Works to improve the physical and behavioral health of mothers and babies in Broward County. Focused on reducing the rates of fetal and infant mortality and preterm birth and improving birth equity. Goals and objectives are accomplished through seven sub-committees: Breastfeeding Coalition of Broward County, Black Infant Health Practice Initiative, Infant Health (Substance Exposed Newborns and Infant Mental Health), Maternal Health, Perinatal HIV Provider Network, Safe Sleep, Teen Parent Alliance, and one community-based initiative (Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait)
Fetal Infant Mortality Review Community Action Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of January, February, April, May, August, October, and November at 9:30 a.m. at Broward Healthy Start Coalition, (6555 NW 5th Way, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309).
The Maternal Child Health Systems Committee meets in March, June, September, and December at 9:30 a.m. at Children's Services Council (6600 W. Commercial Blvd. Lauderhill, FL 33319).
